
Volunteer Agreement
Volunteering at ReadyFest is a meaningful way to make a real impact in your community while gaining hands-on experience in emergency preparedness, public safety, and event operations. Volunteers play a vital role in helping families learn how to stay safe, connect with local first responders, and build confidence before emergencies happen. It’s also a chance to meet neighbors, work alongside community leaders, and be part of a positive, high-energy event that strengthens local resilience. Whether you’re assisting attendees, supporting demonstrations, or helping behind the scenes, volunteering at ReadyFest is a rewarding way to serve your community, build new skills, and be part of something that truly matters.

By signing this agreement, I understand and agree that:

I am volunteering my time freely and without compensation.

My duties may include, but are not limited to: event setup, teardown, registration, crowd assistance, exhibitor support, activity facilitation, information distribution, or other general event support.

I agree to follow all instructions provided by ReadyFest staff, event leadership, municipal officials, and emergency personnel.

I will conduct myself in a respectful, professional, and family-friendly manner at all times.

I understand that ReadyFest is a community event focused on emergency preparedness, safety education, and public engagement.
1. Assumption of Risk
I acknowledge that participation as a volunteer may involve physical activity, interaction with crowds, outdoor conditions, weather exposure, and proximity to demonstrations involving safety, emergency response, or equipment.
I knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks, both known and unknown, associated with volunteering at ReadyFest.
2. Release and Waiver of Liability
In consideration of being allowed to volunteer at ReadyFest, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless:

Event sponsors and exhibitors

Host municipalities

Venue owners
-
Elected officials

Employees, volunteers, agents, contractors, and partners from any and all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of injury, illness, property damage, or loss that may occur during or as a result of my participation, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct, to the extent permitted by Wisconsin law.
3. Medical Authorization
I certify that I am physically capable of performing volunteer duties. In the event of an emergency, I authorize ReadyFest staff to seek medical treatment on my behalf. I understand that I am responsible for any medical costs incurred.
4. Code of Conduct
Volunteers must:

Treat all attendees, exhibitors, staff, and public officials with respect

Refrain from harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior

Not engage in political advocacy, campaigning, or solicitation while volunteering

Not consume alcohol or illegal substances while on duty

Wear provided volunteer credentials when required
Failure to follow these guidelines may result in immediate dismissal from volunteer service.
5. Photo & Video Release
I grant permission for ReadyFest, GSK Event Management Group LLC, host municipalities, and accredited media to photograph, video record, or otherwise capture my likeness during the event. I understand that these images may be used for promotional, marketing, educational, or archival purposes without compensation.
6. Independent Volunteer Status
I understand that I am not an employee of ReadyFest or GSK Event Management Group LLC and am not entitled to wages, benefits, insurance, or workers’ compensation coverage.
7. Governing Law
This agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Wisconsin.
8. Acknowledgment & Signature
By completing and submitting the form below, I acknowledge that I have read and fully understand this Volunteer Agreement and voluntarily agree to its terms.
